Transformed By The Renewing Of Our Mind
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Romans 12:2
With the stresses that the world puts on us, the pressure that we are subjected to, the so called politically correct things we are instructed to do, this sinful world that we live in is satan’s workshop to conform us to his thinking. Make no mistake; satan is out to not only destroy you, but to destroy the world. Nothing in this world is good, nothing in this world can give you hope, salvation or security. So we must be diligent to not allow ourselves to be conformed and molded to the sinful shape of the world. We must be diligent in our work of transforming our minds and and our walk in life to the shape and purpose of the Lord.
Despite this charge, that is our purpose; to renew our minds, transform our minds on daily basis, by staying in the word, meditating on the word, hearing the word, hearing and hearing the word, over and over again. That is our unique purpose though our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
You do this by studying the word of God through the Holy Bible, not just on Sunday, you don’t have to dress up to be transformed! Jesus will accept you , “Just As You Are”. Yes you can get right out bed and work on transforming your mind. Before you get dressed for work, you can transform you mind. Don’t wait for Sunday to do this. Work on it every single day, for the rest of your life here on earth, so that you will prove to everyone, wherever you go the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
We Must Learn to Forgive And Forget
Some things in life seems to hang over our head like an albatross. We never get over acts that were committed against us. We allow these feelings to torment us throughout our lives. Likewise we never forgive those who have committed harm against us. Either way we end up living our life in alienation from God and His word, simply because we are not willing to forgive. God’s forgiveness is limited and He established provision through Jesus Christ, His only Son who gave His life for our sins. He freely gave of Himself so we would have an avenue for forgiveness through Him.
This raises the logical question, If Jesus can forgive us, why can’t we forgive others? God is merciful. We do not deserve His mercy, but we can depend on His forgiveness through Jesus Christ. The bible says God forgives and forgets sins. So must we. We must fogive and we also must forget. When we carry feelings of resentment around. it is a huge pity party that stagnates our development. Strangely it seems to be a validation of our feelings, which are unforgiving. We cannot allow this to happen to us and remember how God has freely forgiven us and we should freely forgive others. If Christ can forgive us by dying on the ross and giving us a way to eternal life, we can and should forgive others.
Know God’s Word and Apply It To You Life
In order to grow in God’s word we need to do more. Yes work is required
to get the full benefits of the God’s word. “But be doers of the word
and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves….. he who looks into the
perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful
hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he
does.” (James 1:22, 25).
You need to study God’s word and seek
ways to apply it to your life. Practice helps you to solidify the
impact of God’s word in your life. With repetition it becomes a viable
and power force which can help you to obey his word consistently.
Keep
score. Record you victories, so that you will have a record of your
success and you will begin to see the powerful force of the word of God
in your life.
Seek First The Kingdom of God
The word “seek” is included in many verses of the bible. It is an action verb that requires a definitve action in order to obtain information or answers. When you seek something you usually go all out to find it. This information creates a void in us until we finally find what we are looking for. Have you ever lost something and sought to find it? I’m sure this is something that we all have experienced. When we seek something dilligently it consumes us, because we have placed some sort of value on whatever the lost item is. Why is it that we don’t place the same value or seek first the Kindgom of God? Is it not more valuable than any earthly item or keepsake that we sometimes seek? We also seek out knowledge. Why do we spend more time seeking to know information in order to let others know how smart we are? So that we will be known as an an expert? It is more important that we know things that will better our career or our social standing in this world. But seldom do we seek to better and enrich our spiritual bank; that is to know more about God’s Kingdom and His Son, Jesus Christ.
Matthew 6: 33 says “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and all these things shall be added unto you”.
We place everything first before the Lord. We seek out information. We seek out promotions. We seek to know the latest gossip. We seek to have the most important job title. We seek to the the first in our circle of friends to have a news car or the latest electronic toy. We seek more money. But rarely do we seek to know the Lord. If you believe Matthew 6:33, all of the above will be added if you seek first the Kingdom of God.
That is where we can do oursleves the most good. It matter not what others in this fallen world think of us. What matters is what our Heavenly Father thinks of us and the work that we do for the honor and glory of his kingdom. When you find yourself frantically looking for a lost item, our trying to secure a promotion, stop and ask the question; Or you seeking First the Kingdom Of God? Are you putting God first? That is the most important thing you can do. Are you happily seeking His Kingdom? This should be you number priority just because GOD should have first place above any and everything in your life. Learn to love the Lord and not earthly things or earthly accolades.
All things Should Be Used For Gods Glory
“If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God: it any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth; the God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ: to who be praise and dominion for ever and ever.”
I peter 4:11
To expand on a previous topic, about God’s gifts. We are blessed with specific gifts that God gives us. We are to use those gifts for the honor and glory of his name. Our gifts are God given and must be discerned of how we are to use them. Most people know that they have a talent and they use it periodically, perhaps for there own pleasure. We must learn to use these gifts for the honor and the glory of Gods name. Here on earth, to bring others to the Body of Christ. Hold fast to your talents and in prayer ask the Lord how to apply and use your talents.
We Must Run The Race Until Jesus Returns
We are transformed by the renewing of our mind. That is a power statement from Paul who often talked about “running the race” and” fighting the good fight” for the Lord, that is our challenge to run the race with humility and to fight the good fight for the Lord in everything that we do. Our life in this fallen world will never, ever be perfect, that fate was sealed for us by the first man Adam by his work against the Lord in the Garden of Eden.
But our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Made everything right that day on Calvary, when he gave his life for our redemption, and triumantlyhe arose from the grave. But we can look forward to the day that Jesus Christ returns triumphantly once and for all. This will be a powerful day of reckoning, when every knee will bow and call Jesus Christ Lord of Lord. Are you ready?
God Will Never Leave Us Alone
Adversity though our constant companion is never our friend. It will always follow us presenting challenges and sometimes weakens our resolve. But adversity cannot overcome the resolve of Almighty God, who is a our anchor in the face of turmoil. The Lord promised to never leave us; never to leave us alone. We may not be able to rid our life of problems, pitfalls, setback and despair; but we can learn to live confidently knowing that Almighty God will be there for us in good times and in bad. We can learn to know that His word and His care is real and that we can choose to walk each day above the circumstance in peace.
Jesus said that he will never leave us; never will leave us alone and that is a powerful testament to His eternal commitment to us through Son and our Savior Jesus Christ.
Use Emotions to Spread the Good News of Christ
I read an interesting article about the range and scope of the human condition. The article touched on the Godly emotions that we are all equipped with that compliment our daily lives and activity. You know emotions are at our command to change. God equipped us to turn them on or turn them off. We have a hand on the lever and we have the control over them. Yet sometimes we can use our emotions for the betterment of God’s kingdom.
There are quite a list of vibrant feelings and emotions that many biblical characters revealed with passion. I think of Paul how he turned his emotions, through actions steps, to teach others about the Good News of Christ. The range of our concept of our love and emotion went from Like, the weaker emotion, to Love the stronger emotion. Paul channeled these emotions to further the understanding of the Good News of Christ and His ultimate message of salvation in the wake of the devastation of this fallen world. Through his act of Love, Paul helped the church to understand what it truly means to be a member of the Body of Christ.
Many men and women felt great sorrow when Jesus Died on the cross. James, John, Jesus mother Mary, were just a few of those who followed Jesus and suffered great Sorrow over His death. They felt the range of emotions from Sadness to Sorrow. When Jesus arose from the dead, three days later they displayed the profound emotion of Joy. It did not stop here they focused their feelings of Joy on spreading the word to all they knew that despite Jesus crucifixion on the cross, that he arose from the grave and He is alive; yesterday, today and forever.
Think about the emotions that over take you when you think about the Love and protection of Jesus Christ. How can you take an action step and use that emotion to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ?
Jesus Word Will Not Return Void or Unproductive
So my word that goes out of my mouth: it will not return to me empty, but accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:11.
This verse along with many others in the Bible explain the fact that Jesus power is everywhere. He does not have to be present for you to receive His Gift. His Grace and His word is sufficient to deliver all that you need. In other words if Jesus said it, then it is so and whatever you ask in His name, so shall you have. Once the word of the Lord is sent out, it will not return void.
This is a spiritual truth that many believers have used over the years, by memorizing and saying the words of Jesus, many have been healed of afflictions, many have overcome some of the most dire circumstances imaginable. You know Jesus word is matter of fact. There is no need to think bout it. There is not need to contemplate whether or not He meant it. There is no need to debate the merits of it. Trust Me. There is no need because His word is real and what He says is true.
Jesus makes a way when it appears to be no way. He works through people as He worked through Peter. Acts 9:30 “Peter sent them all out of the room then he got down on his knees and prayed. Turning toward the dead woman, he said, “Tabitha get up” She opened her eyes and seeing Peter she got up. Peter exercised the powers of the great commission that Jesus gave to the disciples. He commanded her to get up through the awesome power of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
You must release the power of Jesus within you and through you when confronting the dangers of this satan filled world. His word as given to us in the Bible will never, ever return void and unfulfilled. You can bank on that revelation for eternity.
